Bob Levin is a native of Philadelphia. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1967 and soon moved to Berkeley. Levin produced his firsts book, The Best Ride to New York, in 1978 with Harper and Row. A renewed fascination with the EC comic books of his youth and, subsequently, all that had transpired in the art form since he left it behind led him to start contributing to The Comics Journal in 1991. There he began the work that makes up this volume. His second book, Fully Armed, a biographic fiction, was released by Baskerville in 1995 and a third, Fantagraphics’ The Pirates and the Mouse: Disney’s War Against the Counterculture hit bookstore shelves to much acclaim in 2003. Levin is a lawyer in Berkeley, where he lives with his wife Adele.
