Dash Shaw

Dash Shaw is a cartoonist and animator. His graphi novel New School, about two brothers teaching English at a theme park, was named one of the best books of the year by NPR in 2013. His other recent books include Doctors, about doctors who enter deceased patients’ afterlives to bring them back from the dead; BodyWorld, about telepathy; and Bottomless Belly Button, about a family gathering at a remote beach house. His work can also be found in the acclaimed comics anthology NOW.

Shaw also wrote and directed the independent animated feature My Entire High School Sinking into the Sea, starring the voice talents of Jason Schwartzman, Lena Dunham, Reggie Watts, Maya Rudolph, and Susan Sarandon.

He was a 2010 Sundance Labs Fellow and a 2014-2015 Cullman Center Fellow at the New York Public Library.
