Ho Che Anderson has perfected a film-noir style in his Fantagraphics graphic novels King and Young Hoods in Love, as well as the Eros Comix masterpiece I Want to Be Your Dog. In his series Pop Life (co-created with Wilfred Santiago), Anderson refined his noirish approach to reflect his more recent European influences in this series of urban Toronto life.
"Anderson uses a film noir style, with a Wellesian mastery of shadows and moods." – Vibe
"His mastery of multi-media techniques is so subtle that readers are inexorably drawn in and comic artists are left floundering to imitate... Imagine the L.A. race riots painted by Michaelangelo and you will start to understand the paradox that is Ho Che Anderson." – Montreal Vice
