Raymond Macherot

The king of bucolic Franco-Belgian “anthropomorphic” comics, Raymond Macherot (1924-2008) was best known for writing and drawing Chlorophylle for Tintin magazine and Sibylline for Spirou magazine. But the prolific cartoonist also created the detective series Clifton (featuring a cast of humans) and the satirical funny-animal masterpiece Chaminou et le Khrompire.
