Riding that fine edge between the sickening and the humorous, Dave Cooper's quintessentially moist, wavy, almost vibrating line technique and parallel-universe story will make you hope the future doesn't come too quickly. Originally serialized in Zero Zero, Crumple is stuffed with lesbians, half-breeds, alien invasions and the story of a guy named Knuckle as he stumbles through heartbreak and forced ejaculation with his misogynistic friend Zev. A satirical and at times shocking meditaion on the fear & anxiety surrounding one man's lack of control over his own destiny in a world where women belong to a secret cult intent on elimination of all males of the species. Needless to say, Crumple is a bizzarre mindf*@k for children of advanced years only. High production values & Cooper's unique design sense make this second installment in the SuckleCrumpleRipple "triptych" a must for anyone who appreciates the potential of this ailing medium.
