This wonderful full page Sunday was drawn exclusively for the Post-Dispatch by Fontaine Fox in 1928 and features the entire cast of his famous cartoon Toonerville Folks. Completely restored to its original brilliance: hundreds of instances of dirt, debris, and discoloration have been removed.

Fontaine Fox (1884 – 1964) was an American cartoonist best known for his comic-strip series Toonerville Folks which inspired merchandise and movies and is popular to this day. Among the panel’s memorable characters were Mickey (Himself) McGuire, The Powerful Katrinka, The Terrible-Tempered Mr Bang, and the Skipper of the Toonerville Trolley That Meets All the Trains.
