We produced this "BLAD" promotional brochure to help hype Walt Disney's Donald Duck: Lost in the Andes by Carl Barks, and we are pleased to present it here for the first time. You'll notice a different cover design for the book than we've shown you before, and you'll see a good sample of the recoloring job done by Rich Tommaso — not to mention, of course, some glimpses of Barks's genius. Click each page for larger images, or download the whole thing as a PDF.
Wonderful! I just hope you will fix that typo on that quote by Will Eisner: Hans Christian AnderSEN, not "Anderson"...

When will the first two-volume box be available for pre-order? written by Robb Klein,

When will the first two-volume box be available for pre-order? Will it be handled by Amazon.com, as well? Will boxes be sold separately, for those who want to get the first volume immediately?

Yikes! We fixed the typo -- can we blame Eisner for it? And Robb, there will be no box sets. We're releasing the volumes out of chronological order (though the contents of each volume are chronological), so it didn't make sense for us to do that.

Wow. That is some awful coloring. The backgrounds completely obliterate the foreground characters. (Most glaring, Donald walking in that yellow panel.)
These stories have been reprinted extensively, both by Gladstone and Egmont. Why recolor the stories, if those separations exist? If these volumes wish to replicate the original printings, then why not use a more muted palette?
There's an interview here: http://robot6.comicbookresources.com/2011/02/rich-tommaso-on-re-coloring-the-carl-barks-comics/
I hope the colors on the blad was just a production error. Otherwise, I'll invest in the Another Rainbow volumes.

True to the originals written by MikeB,

Torsten, the palette and coloring in these Fantagraphics samples seem to be almost identical to the original printings, just like Rich Tommaso says in the interview.
I think it's a great idea to color the stories as close as possible to the original pallet. In doing colors for the brazilian edition of The Carl Barks Libray I used the same approach.
