OK, so we got excited when Tony Millionaire's cover art for Elvis Costello's new album National Ransom appeared as an eeny weeny thumbnail on The Colbert Report last week. Well that was just the appetizer to last night's (I suppose inevitable) main course, when Costello was the guest on Colbert's show. The two discussed the artwork (without mentioning the artist... c'mon, guys), which was plastered all over the place during the segment. Watch the episode here.

Celluloid chaos is on tap as Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery, in association with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, present the final Seattle celebration of DESTROY ALL MOVIES!!!: The Complete Guide to Punks on Film on Saturday afternoon, November 13 at 2:00 PM. Editors Zack Carlson and Bryan Connolly will be joined by Fantagraphics Books' resident design genius Jacob Covey to sign copies of this exquisite, encyclopedic compendium of punk movies. The event features an ambient screening of clips drawn from the more than 1,100 films chronicled in the book.

DESTROY ALL MOVIES!!! documents the punk movement as captured through the lenses of major Hollywood studios, international independent filmmakers, and everything in between. The book includes movie stills, posters, opinionated reviews and revealing interviews with the actors, directors and musicians featured in the films.

Fantagraphics Bookstore & Gallery was as jam-packed as it's ever been for Charles Burns's book signing and exhibit opening last Saturday, October 30. If you were claustrophobic, it was not the place to be! On the other hand, if you give half a toot about comics, it was exactly the place to be! The signing line stretched far into the distance and beyond the edge of this photo.

Charles was happy as a clam chatting with fans all night and signing copies of Black Hole and his newest book X'ed Out — until they sold out, that is.

Several fans showed up in their Halloween costumes, including the Invisible Man here.

We had a great display of Burns prints for sale, many of which are still available.

The Bruce Pavitt RAW collection was also on display. The silent auction for this collection continues to accept bids through December 6 — more info here.
