Toronto! Get ready for a fantastic comics event as Robin McConnell, host of the INKSTUDS podcast and author of the new book of the same name, will interview Canada's own Dave Cooper, who has recently released his own new artbook BENT! Following the interview will be a moderated Q&A with the audience, and a signing.

The event is going down on Sunday, November 28th, from 3pm-6pm next door to The Beguiling at The Central. Both the INKSTUDS book and Cooper's BENT (as well as other fine graphic novels) will be available for sale.

This is a FREE event, and it's going to be a lot of fun. Come on out and a have a beer and a bite to eat, and enjoy some great comics chatting.

At his Cats Without Dogs blog Jason posts another page from the French edition of his forthcoming graphic novel Isle of 100,000 Graves (written by written by Fabien Vehlmann; coming in English from Fantagraphics in Spring 2011). See a previous glimpse here.

This video by Jim Woodring has been declared a winner in a contest held by Boing Boing — to divulge the nature of the contest would spoil the video, so watch it first and then click over to find out about the contest. Looks like there was a pretty sweet prize too — congrats Jim!

And over at his Woodring Monitor blog Jim shows off a small "home use" handle for his in-progress giant pen project, along with the "before" picture of the raw wood with the lathe pattern drawn on it. 

Weathercraft has made Publishers Weekly's unranked top-100 Best Books of 2010 list in the Comics category. PW calls the book "A disturbing fantasy of struggle from comics' premiere surrealist as the piglike Manhog endures the sufferings of Job from the cruel Whim." Hurrah!

To celebrate the impending release of Destroy All Movies!!! The Complete Guide to Punks on Film, Wired presents a gallery of photos from 18 of the films featured in the book, which they call "probably the last word on punks, and perhaps even post-punks, on the screen."

Don't forget, the Destroy All Movies!!! tour kicks off tomorrow in Albuquerque, NM!
