Two business card drawings I picked up at a con a few years ago for a couple of bucks each. I know nothing about either cartoonist, but I've always wanted to know what a little baby who looks ready to fight has to do with a strip called "Off the Record":

The penultimate chapter! By Daniel Clowes. 

Chapter 17 of Daniel Clowes' New York Times strip so masterfully built tension into such small space, and Chapter 18 is even more powerful and devastating. I'm actually sad this is ending in just a couple weeks, I don't think I've ever enjoyed a weekly comic more. We're pullin' for ya, Marshall.

The latest "Daniel Clowes is working on a movie" story involves Clowes writing the screenplay for an animated film directed by Michel Gondry based on a story and artwork by Gondry's son Paul. More here and here.

This is undoubtedly one of the unlikeliest ad campaigns ever: David Boring, spokesman/model for Hong Kong fashion company Chocoolate.

It's up for the reading.

Daniel Clowes and Chris Ware contribute stories to this Zadie Smith anthology of new fiction, The Book of Other People. Charles Burns illustrates the covers. It also has prose from the likes of Dave Eggers, Jonathan Lethem, and George Saunders. All of this makes for yet another beautiful Penguin Books artifact. [Note: I originally found out about this book via the great Blog Flume which has some scans of the cartoonists' work.]
