"Jumpin' jacksnipes!" Duckburg's richest tycoon is on the hunt for legendary square eggs — and he's bringing Donald, Huey, Dewey, and Louie along! It’s our second complete, chronological book of Duck adventures by internationally celebrated fan favorite Don Rosa — following in the footsteps of Disney legend Carl Barks with his own distinctive style! Famed for his prizewinning Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, Rosa wrote and drew two decades' worth of ripping Duck yarns and is among the world's most beloved modern cartoonists. Star stories in our second Rosa book include "Return to Plain Awful," Rosa’s sequel to Barks' "Lost in the Andes." Then, in "His Majesty McDuck," Scrooge beats the IRS by seceding from the Union... only to have his new country colonized by the Beagle Boys! Plus more! Presented with a rich archive of Rosa's cover art and behind-the-scenes factoids, these Duckburg epics are getting a definitive, comprehensive North American edition for the very first time — at a bargain price worthy of Scrooge himself!

Our next Don Rosa Library book is here, filled with more richly dense and action-packed stories featuring our favorite duck family! It's easy to lose oneself in the page after page of Don Rosa's stories and artwork, and we may in fact have been slightly delayed in putting up these photos, such was the draw of reading each and every tale. And—what's this?—the first box set collecting volumes 1 and 2 of the Don Rosa Library is at our office as well?

Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck: Return to Plain Awful and The Don Rosa Library Vols. 1-2 Gift Box Set are due to hit store shelves in just a few measly weeks, so hold on tight! We've got plenty of previews in store for you until then.

Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck: Return to Plain Awful - Excerpt
Written by Sonia Lei | Filed under previewsDon RosaDisneyComing Attractions 30 Sep 2014 4:15 PM

In the first adventure that Don Rosa takes us on in Walt Disney's Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck: Return to Plain Awful, titled "The Crocodile Collector," Uncle Scrooge enlists Donald Duck and the intrepid trio, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, on a quest to find the fabled sacred crocodiles of Emperor Nero.

This goose—er—crocodile chase takes the ducks from the bustling capitol city of Cairo, Egypt to the fetid, bug-infested swamps north of Lake Victoria, Africa. To quote Donald Duck: "Oh, my aching duckfeathers!"

Give the 20-page excerpt a gander here, and check out the book page for more info and for pre-sale ordering.

"Like the best travelogues, An Age of License shows you what it would be like to visit a place while reminding you that you can never have the same experience...This book is more thought-provoking than her other works, demonstrating growth and a challenge to readers to think about these things in their own lives." –Johanna Carlson-Draper, Comics Worth Reading

"Knisley is a pleasurable picture-maker and there are hooks here in that she talks in forthright fashion about an affair she had while over there (a forthcoming book is about her marriage, which has to imminent) and she engages directly with the issue of privilege as it pertains to her ability to take trips like this one." –Tom Spurgeon, Comics Reporter
