C2E2 logo

We aren't in attendance at C2E2 in Chicago this weekend, but you'll be able to find our wares at various dealer booths, including Chicaco Comics' (booth 526) — and if you stop by their booth between 2 and 4 tomorrow (Saturday March 19), you'll be able to meet Paul Hornschemeier and have him sign your books (or, Paul notes on his blog, your dog).

Giant Robot gets a "1UP" with Game Over IV, their latest group show paying homage to video game culture, with several Fantagraphics artists at the joysticks, including Andrice Arp, Jeffrey Brown, Paul Hornschemeier, and Steven Weissman. That's a sneak peek at Paul's work up there, and below, we've got a piece from Steven.

The show opens Friday, March 4th at GRSF [618 Shrader Street, San Francisco] with a reception from 6:30 - 10:00 pm.  Is the princess in another castle?  You can catch the show until March 30, 2011.

New Chicago Comics Busy Beaver Buttons

The New Chicago Comics exhibit at MCA Chicago may be over but they still have a Busy Beaver Button vending machine dispensing buttons featuring artwork by the exhibiting artists: Jeffrey Brown, Lilli Carré, Paul Hornschemeier, and Anders Nilsen. Oh, me and my precious laundry quarters would soon be parted. (Via Lilli's Kettle of Fish blog.)

Marvel enlisted Paul Hornschemeier's design skills for the cover of their trade collection of Strange Tales II — check out better views & get more info at Paul's blog. I especially like the treatment of the "Parental Advisory" on the back. Nice job Paul!

Black Eye

Given my job it is strange for me to suggest that you give another publisher your money. But as a comics fan I really want this awesome-sounding project to get the help it needs and I'd be crazy not to plug it: Ryan Standfest's startup Rotland Press + Comicworks is raising needed funds via Kickstarter for the printing of the new comics anthology BLACK EYE: Graphic Transmissions to Cause Ocular Hypertension and jeezum crow, look at that lineup — that's just mind-boggling:

Mats!? (USA- Oakland, CA)
Fanny Michaëlis (France)
James Moore (USA- New York City)
