Well, whether or not you wear underwear is really more of a personal decision, but you can now get yourself a snazzy tee featuring artwork from long-running Harvey-award-nominated comic Underworld by Kaz!
And to celebrate the opening of their shop, all tees are discounted for the first week only. We're not entirely sure when this offer expires, so click over there today!
Got a hole in your jacket from that Chris Ware story that reached in, tore your heart out, and stomped it into the ground? (His writing, that is, not the man himself -- he's pretty laid-back.)
Patch it up with one of these rad new patches from our friends at Quimby's in Chicago! Heat adhesive, four-color embroidered, and only five freakin' bucks. Only available at the store for now, but they should be on sale on their website soon.
You'll wanna hail down one of these wonderful new tees from Jim Woodring, designed for our friends at the non-profit literary organization, Rain Taxi!
I don't even know where to start when it comes to all the great stuff Rain Taxi does for literature. You may already be familiar with their award-winning quarterly-publication Rain Taxi: Review of Books, which is frickin' free all across the nation. But they also power tons of great events, like the annual Twin Cities Book Festival!
So, not only are you sportin' some fine Pushpaw action across your chest, but you're also supporting an awesome organization!
And it looks like they still have some of the Joe Sacco-designed tee in stock, but only in size small!
It's been a while since Paul Hornschemeier has had a new t-shirt design, but he's back... and he means business. As in this t-shirt design. Go get one and go for that promotion, available online at Paul's Forlorn Funnies Shirt Shop.
Somewhere out there is an incredibly lucky lady named Susan who received a half-dozen of these one-of-a-kind hand-drawn t-shirts from Gilbert & Jaime Hernandez back in 1982! Gilbert's awesome wife Carol just shared these pics on the Love & Rockets Facebook Fan Page with the note: "I am amazed that she still has them." Whaaat?! I would've been amazed if she didn't!!!
Our friends at Poketo have just released a new series of wallets entitled "You're a Riot, Grrrl!" -- each wallet featuring artwork by bold female artists, like Lisa Hanawalt, Hellen Jo, and our very own, Esther Pearl Watson!
I got the "Unlovable" wallet at San Diego Comic-Con, and lemme tell ya, so far, it's been quite lovable! The inside design boasts the truth "1978 Honda Hatchbacks are sexy" (damn straight) and it comes with a 1" Tammy Pierce button.
Poketo even did an illustrated interview with Esther on their blog, which you can read here, and you can get a wallet for yourself here. Totally.
Curious about that first pair, I dug around a little online, and came across these beauts, and some more information. Apparently, back in the 1970's, Clemente lent his name to this brand of Super Pro sneakers, sold exclusively in his homeland of Puerto Rico! I propose supplemental material on these shoes in a future Special Edition of 21: The Story of Roberto Clemente.
And I saved the best (in my girly-opinion) for last with these exquisite shoes, inspired by E.C. Segar's Popeye fashionista Olive Oyl. I sure wanna kidnap these handcrafted beauties by Israeli shoe designer Kobi Levi, but oops, looks like they're one-of-a-kind. Kobi, I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a pair of these today?
[ Props to Devlin Thompson and Cartoon Brew for the scoop! ]
Are you kidding me?! One of the few things I love as much as comics is fashion, so a dress featuring a print designed by artist Ray Fenwick is almost too much for me to handle.
Titled "Toothpick Swarm," this cotton jersey dress from Threadless.com features Fenwick's immediately-identifiable illustration work in a bold tomato-red print.
And fellas, Fenwick has you covered, too, with the "S.S. Aimless" tee, also available through Threadless.com. Um... I kinda want this, too.
Of course, if you'd rather read it than wear it, just click here to get your copy of Mascots, if it's not on your bookshelf already. More of Fenwick's energetic work in his signature surrealistic style, and less laundry.
