Snake 'n' Bacon on your television!
Written by Mike Baehr | Filed under televisionMichael Kupperman 3 Apr 2009 2:43 PM

Snake 'n' Bacon

ALERT! Unofficial word has it that Adult Swim will air the (heretofore-only-streaming-on-their-website) pilot of Michael Kupperman's Snake 'n' Bacon TV program on May 10 at 12:45 AM! As when they aired the pilot for Tony Millionaire's The Drinky Crow Show, it's likely that the network will be gauging viewer response in order to decide whether to pick up the show for a series, so we'll definitely be posting more information about that as it becomes available. For now: mark your calendars and TUNE IN FOR TELETHRIZZLE!

Rocky onscreen!
Written by Kim Thompson | Filed under televisionMartin Kellerman 17 Jun 2008 9:55 AM

Martin Kellerman's "Rocky" is being adapted for the screen — 13 episodes of hanging out, arguing, eating, reading comics (check out Rocky's preferred reading material below), drinking coffee, listening to music, watching DVD's, playing videogames...and even indulging in the occasional bit of carnal knowledge.

No details yet on when and whether there will be an English language version (or at least subtitled episodes), but in the meantime, enjoy these rockin' stills (click them for larger versions) — and watch for Fantagraphics' Rocky Volume II this Fall!

It's Official: The Drinky Crow Show is ON
Written by Eric Reynolds | Filed under Tony Millionairetelevision 20 Feb 2008 11:54 AM

As expected for awhile, Adult Swim on Cartoon Network has placed an initial order for 10 episodes of "The Drinky Crow Show," based on Tony Millionaire's acclaimed "Maakies" comic strip. The newest Maakies book, The Maakies With the Wrinkled Knees, will hit stores next month.

A pilot episode of the proposed series was developed by Millionaire and animation producer Eric Kaplan last year. It aired as part of a competition which pitted dozens of pilots against each other, with the fans voting online for their favorites. The Drinky Crow Show was far and away the most popular new pilot, leading to the order for more episodes, which are tentatively slated to begin airing late this year or early next.

We'll have more news on this next week, including an exclusive Flog interview with Millionaire about the episodes that are just going into production.

In the meantime, here's a new Millionaire interview with the good folks at CBR.
