Sept. 15-19, 2013, Lincoln Center, New York City

Guess what? Your favorite cartoonist-cum-animator Dash Shaw will be appearing at the Filmmaker Conference the week after SPX. Here are the details, friends!

Whatever form your story takes, IFP's Filmmaker Conference showcases how great projects can connect with audiences and stand out in a crowded marketplace.

Presenting filmmakers and cross-platform innovators including Oscar-nominated producer Jon Kilik (The Hunger Games), filmmakerLucien Castaing-Taylor (Leviathan) and multimedia musician DJ Spooky, case studies of Fruitvale Station, Our Nixon, Comedy Central's Drunk History, Sound City, and interactive documentary Hollow, as well as "Blitz Wisdom" talks from street photographerJamel Shabazz, animator Dash Shaw, composer Peter Nashel, big data pioneers Harmony Institute, distribution advisor Peter Broderick, and the Walker Art Center's #CatVidFest.

For a more hands-on experience, the Conference also offers Live Pitch Workshops, submit your pitch today for a chance to get feedback from industry pros on how to make it more impactful - plus games presented with Upright Citizens Brigade and Meet the Decision Makers, cinematography workshop with Kodak, and small group meetings with tastemakers who can further your project! And new this year, #ArtistServices NYC presented by Sundance Institute, fierce conversations around the latest technology and trends in independent filmmaking.
