BrowseGary Panter Gary Panter is possibly the most influential graphic artist of his generation, and something of a national art treasure. A three-time Emmy winner for his production design on Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, and recipient of the 2000 Chrysler Award for Design Excellence, he was raised in Texas by Cowboys and Indians. Panter is the creator of the punk rock character Jimbo who appeared in Slash and later in RAW magazine. Recent publications include Jimbo in Paradise and Satiro-Plastic, the first in a series of sketchbook facsimiles. Panter's book Jimbo's Inferno won an American Book Award in 2007.
