Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo chronicles the adventures of a masterless samurai rabbit (a “ronin”) in feudal Japan. As he wanders from town to town looking to earn his keep, he often encounters much more than he bargained for, getting caught up in swordfights, mysteries, and even unlikely romances along the way. (If Pixar and the late Akira Kurosawa were to collaborate on a movie, it might very well look like this.) Featuring iconic anthropomorphic characters, gorgeously rendered settings, exquisite plotting, and tongue-in-cheek humor, this series is a treat for all ages.
