Paul S. Newman (1924–1999) is credited in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s most prolific comic book writer (more than 4,100 stories). He began writing comics in 1947 for DC and later wrote for, among others, Avon, Fawcett, Hillman, St. John, Ziff Davis, and Marvel Comics’ two predecessor companies, Timely and Atlas. For Dell/Gold Key, he wrote Turok, Son of Stone, The Lone Ranger, and the comic-book adaptation of the Beatles' animated feature Yellow Submarine.
